What is desire?
A desire is a demand that we can not fulfill due to one or the other reason. We want to have something but we can not have it because of our one or the other inabilities. Sometimes we lack money, sometimes we lack skills, knowledge or we are just not worthy enough.
When it happens, we postpone it for future. If we are integrated enough to work for it, we start striving to achieve it. It becomes a fancy or a desire of ours. It is how a desire takes shape in our mind. A desire is a higher level of demand in the future.
But once we are able to have it. It doesn’t remain as a desire anymore. It becomes a demand again. If we are willing to spend on it we buy it or have it. But if we don’t want to spend on it we just ignore it. It doesn’t bother us anymore.
Let’s understand it with this example. when you were kids you liked Icecream. As a child, you might have thought that when I have enough money I would buy lots of Icecream and eat it daily. But you are now grown up you have enough money to buy the entire Icecream parlor.
Do you buy Icecream daily?
Ever you thought, why you don’t you eat Icecream daily?
Because you have the abilities to have it, at your will and therefore it doesn’t exist your desire. Now you just don’t have to think about it anymore.
The same thing is applicable to anything a big house, a nice car, a beautiful wife, two cute kids, a powerful and respected position in society. The moment you become able to have it, It stops fascinating you. It doesn’t exist anymore as your desire.
So whenever you desire something just remember that desire shows your inability to have it, so instead of desiring something try to be deserving enough for it.
